Breaking Free from Self-Doubt: Embracing My Inner Writer
I never fit the traditional mold of a writer. No bestselling novels or literary awards in my future, I thought. Yet, I’ve been writing since I was eight, pouring my thoughts into a colorful Sanrio diary. As an introvert, writing became my sanctuary, a way to process emotions and reflect on life.

When I briefly lived in Italy, I started sharing my humorous and emotional experiences online. To my surprise, people enjoyed reading them! This realization sparked a romanticized dream of becoming a writer. But, my excitement was short-lived, replaced by crippling self-doubt. I felt like an imposter, too far removed from the world of journalism and creative writing.
Fear of Rejection
My dream stagnated as I struggled to overcome the fear of rejection. I believed that my ordinary life couldn’t compete with my extraordinary experiences abroad. So, I abandoned my dream, letting it collect dust.
Rediscovering My Passion
Last year, I stumbled upon inspiring blogs and writers who shattered my misconceptions about the writing world. These individuals were relatable, hardworking, and confident in their abilities. They didn’t need fancy degrees or credentials to succeed. Their determination and hustle were the keys to their success.

We’re fortunate to live in an era where online platforms can help us showcase our work and attract opportunities. As someone without a formal education in writing, the biggest hurdle is taking the first step. However, with the abundance of freelance resources and side gigs available, there’s no excuse not to try.
