Embracing a Fresh Start: Breaking Down Lofty Goals into Manageable Chunks
As I welcomed the new year, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. The opportunity to start anew was a chance to recalibrate and refocus on my priorities. After graduating from law school and landing my first full-time job, I was determined to create a sustainable routine that would help me thrive in my new role.

As someone who’s not naturally athletic, I knew I needed to find an exercise routine that worked for me. After trying an app that didn’t quite fit my style, I decided to join a yoga studio. The goal is to establish a consistent practice that will help me manage stress and prioritize my physical health.
February: Tackling Financial Admin
This month, I’m focusing on getting my financial ducks in a row. From setting up a solid payment structure for my student loans to applying for a good points-based credit card, I’m tackling the administrative tasks that have been lingering on my to-do list.
March: Creating a Sense of Home
After living in my apartment for two and a half years, I’m finally feeling settled. This month, I’m focused on finishing the last few touches, from hanging a print over my bed to setting up renter’s insurance. I’m also determined to develop an efficient filing system and address any lingering issues with my building’s management.
April: Digital Detox
In April, I’m turning my attention to my digital life. From organizing my files and backing up my data to unfollowing social media accounts that no longer bring me joy, I’m committed to creating a sense of order and calm in my online world.
