Transform Your Life in 21 Days: 6 Simple Habits for a Happier You

Embracing Intentional Living: Building Lasting Habits in 2021

As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on our daily choices and how they impact our overall happiness and well-being. One powerful approach to intentional living is building new habits, and research suggests it takes just 21 days to form a new one.

The Power of 21 Days

In 2019, I stumbled upon this fascinating fact and decided to put it to the test. I set multiple resolutions throughout the year, giving myself 21 days to build each new habit. If I succeeded, I’d add another resolution to the mix. If not, I’d reassess and try again. This approach allowed me to aim high while acknowledging that unrealistic goals often lead to disappointment.

My 2021 Habits

This year, I’m excited to apply the same method to build six new habits:

Flossing Consistency

I’m guilty of neglecting morning flossing due to my rushed routine. My goal is to make it a consistent habit in 2021, ensuring a healthier smile and fewer awkward dentist visits.

Balanced Fitness

After a rollercoaster year of workouts, I’m aiming to strike a balance by exercising three times a week. While it’s a challenge, I know it’s achievable and will have a significant impact on my overall health.

Cooking with Intention

With the pandemic came a reliance on takeout and convenience foods. In 2021, I hope to cook 9-12 meals a week, finding a happy medium between cooking and convenience.

Daily Fresh Air

Getting outside daily has become increasingly tough during the winter months. I’m committing to taking a short walk or visiting my rooftop every day, no matter the weather.

Meditation and Mindfulness

I’ve dabbled in meditation, but I want to make it a more integral part of my routine. My goal is to meditate three times a week, modifying my approach as needed throughout the year.

Discovering New Hobbies

I’ve always been envious of people who’ve mastered new skills during the pandemic. In 2021, I’m eager to explore various hobbies, from pottery to needlepoint, and make them a part of my routine.

The Beauty of Flexibility

These goals will likely evolve throughout the year. If I encounter setbacks, I’ll reassess and adjust my approach. With six goals, I have room to experiment and find what works best for me.
