The Rise of Glossier: A New Approach to Beauty
In the past decade, Glossier has revolutionized the beauty industry with its digital-first approach, curating a selection of skincare and makeup products that enhance natural beauty. From its humble beginnings as a response to founder Emily Weiss’ beauty blog “Into The Gloss,” Glossier has grown into a thriving business and a philosophy on modern beauty.
A Fresh Perspective on Beauty
Glossier’s approach to beauty is centered around the idea of “beauty inspired by real life.” Their products are designed to be intuitive, uncomplicated, and easy to use, promoting a sense of fun, freedom, and self-acceptance. This message resonates deeply with millennials, who are looking for a more authentic and effortless approach to beauty.
My Favorite Glossier Products
As a loyal customer, I’ve had the opportunity to try several Glossier products over the years. Here are the ones that have earned a permanent spot in my beauty routine:
- Futuredew: Oil Serum Hybrid – This innovative product has transformed my dry winter skin, providing long-lasting hydration and a radiant glow.
- Boy Brow: Grooming Pomade – This game-changing eyebrow product has become a staple in my daily routine, shaping and fluffing my brows with ease.
- Bubble Wrap: Eye And Lip Cream – This rich and nourishing cream has been a lifesaver for my dry eyes and lips, providing instant relief and hydration.
- Generation G: Sheer Matte Lipstick – This lightweight and natural-looking lipstick has become my go-to for everyday wear, providing a subtle pop of color without the fuss.
Products to Approach with Caution
While Glossier has many standout products, there are a few that didn’t quite live up to my expectations:
- Lip Gloss – While this product looks beautiful and has a long-lasting formula, it’s still quite sticky and not worth the price point in my opinion.
- Hand Cream – Unfortunately, this product fell short for me, with unnecessary packaging and a scent that didn’t agree with me.
- Balm Dotcom: Universal Skin Salve – While this product has its fans, I believe it’s an overpriced version of Vaseline, and I’ll be sticking to my drugstore alternatives.
