The Power of Imperfect Action: How to Launch Your Business While Working a Day Job
Are you struggling to turn your side hustle into a full-time business? Do you feel stuck in your day job, unsure of how to make the leap? The answer may lie in taking imperfect action.
The One Thing That Changed Everything
In my own journey, there was one crucial step that helped me launch my business while working a day job. It’s a strategy that has come up time and time again in conversations with successful entrepreneurs. So, what is it?
Selling Before You’re Ready
I knew I wanted to teach and train people, but I was procrastinating. I needed a push to create my course and get my business started. So, I took a bold step: I sold my product before it was ready.
The Email That Changed Everything
One morning, I sent an email to my small list of less than 100 people, announcing a course called the Get Unstuck Bootcamp. I priced it at $97, linked to PayPal, and went to work, secretly hoping no one would buy it. But then, something unexpected happened.
The First Sale
As I sat in my cubicle, I opened my phone to see a $97 purchase from a student in London. I had to create the course then. Over the next month, I put together the content and taught it live to the participants. That first course had five students, but it was enough to get my business started.
The Power of Iteration
After that initial course, I ran it again and again, improving it each time. It’s now called Love Your Career Formula 2.0, and I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve created. It all started with taking imperfect action and selling something before I was ready.
What Can You Do Now?
If you’re feeling stuck, take a page from my book. What can you do today to start selling before you’re completely prepared? Take imperfect action, and see where it takes you.
