Discover Your True Calling: A 4-Part Journey
Are you tired of feeling unfulfilled in your career? Do you dream of waking up every morning with a sense of purpose and passion? It’s time to embark on a journey to discover your true calling.
The Three Components of Your Calling
Before we dive in, it’s essential to understand the three components that make up your calling:
- Your Ideal Job Description: What tasks do you love doing? What kind of work environment do you thrive in?
- Your Motivations: What drives you? What are your core values and passions?
- Your Passion: What activities do you enjoy doing in your free time? What topics do you love learning about?
Challenge #1: Create Your Ideal Job Description
Take some time to reflect on your past experiences, including jobs, internships, and volunteer work. Make a list of what you loved and hated about each experience. Then, use this information to create your ideal job description.
- What tasks do you enjoy doing?
- What kind of work environment do you prefer?
- What kind of impact do you want to make in your work?
Challenge #2: Determine Your Motivations
What drives you? What are your core values and passions? Take some time to reflect on what motivates you and what you stand for.
- What are your top values?
- How do these values align with your current work situation?
- What kind of work environment would allow you to live out your values?
Challenge #3: Uncover Your Passion
What activities do you enjoy doing in your free time? What topics do you love learning about? Take some time to reflect on what you’re passionate about.
- What do you daydream about?
- What do you love learning about?
- What would you do if money wasn’t an issue?
Challenge #4: Can You Get Paid for Your Passion?
Is there a market for your passion? Will the market pay for what you offer? Take some time to research and reflect on the following questions:
- Does your passion meet a need in the world or workplace?
- What is the average salary of someone in the career you’re passionate about?
- Are you comfortable charging for what you love to do?
Putting it All Together
Now that you’ve completed the four challenges, it’s time to put it all together. Take some time to reflect on what you’ve learned and how you can apply it to your life.
- What is your ideal job description?
- What motivates you?
- What are you passionate about?
- Can you get paid for your passion?
Remember, discovering your true calling is a journey, not a destination. Be patient, stay curious, and keep exploring. Good luck!
