From Cubicle to Entrepreneur: My Journey to Success
I still remember the day I decided to take the leap and pursue my passion for teaching. I was stuck in a cubicle, feeling unfulfilled and restless. But I had a dream – to create a course that would help women achieve their career goals. The problem was, I had no idea where to start.
The First Sale: A Turning Point
I began by sending an email to my network of about 100 people, announcing the launch of my Get Unstuck course. I was nervous, but I took a risk and put my work out into the world. And then, something amazing happened. I received a notification of payment from PayPal – someone had bought my course! I was ecstatic, and it gave me the confidence to keep moving forward.
The Power of Imperfection
My first course was far from perfect. The colors were ugly, and the sign-up link was buried in the email. But I didn’t let that stop me. I continued to improve and tweak the course, using feedback from surveys and individual coaching with my clients. And slowly but surely, my business started to grow.
From Course to Community
Fast forward to today, and my little course has evolved into a membership community called Love Your Career Formula. It’s a 90-day program that helps women determine their ideal career fit and land their dream job. I’m proud of what I’ve created, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to help others achieve their goals.
The Importance of Mentorship
I didn’t get to where I am today alone. I had the guidance of mentors and coaches who helped me navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship. And that’s why I’m passionate about paying it forward – helping other women achieve their own success.
Behind the Scenes
My company, Classy Career Girl International LLC, is a digital media company and online brand that provides daily career and inspirational articles for women. We work with advertisers and partners, but I wanted to make more of an impact. So, I branched out and created online courses, membership sites, and physical products.
My Mission
My goal is to help 2,000 women launch their dream careers and businesses by 2018. It’s ambitious, but I’m committed to making it happen. And I’m transparent about my journey, because I want to show others that success is possible with hard work and determination.
Lessons Learned
Looking back on my journey, I’ve learned that imperfection is okay. It’s better to take action and move forward than to wait for perfection. I’ve also learned the importance of mentorship and community – surrounding yourself with people who support and encourage you.
The Future
I’m excited about what the future holds for my business and my community. I’m constantly learning and growing, and I’m passionate about helping others do the same. Join me on this journey, and let’s achieve our goals together!
