Embracing the Evolution of Entrepreneurship
The landscape of entrepreneurship is changing, and women are at the forefront of this shift. According to recent statistics, the number of women-owned businesses in the United States has increased by 74% between 1997 and 2015, outpacing the national average by 1.5 times. This remarkable growth is a testament to the power of women’s contributions to the economy.
A Journey of Self-Discovery
As I reflect on my own entrepreneurial journey, I am reminded of the countless women who have struggled to find their place in the corporate world. The rigid structures and limited flexibility often led to feelings of frustration and disempowerment. However, with the rise of entrepreneurship, women now have the opportunity to create their own paths and define their own success.
The Elusive Balance
As I navigated the early stages of my business, I found myself working longer hours than ever before. The freedom to set my own schedule was overshadowed by the demands of building a new venture. It was a challenging time, but one that forced me to confront my own strengths and weaknesses. I had to question everything I thought I knew about myself and my business.
A Shift in Perspective
Initially, I focused on developing my skills as a life coach, helping others to find their dream work and design a life they love. However, as I delved deeper into the world of personal development, I began to feel a sense of disconnection from my own passions and interests. I had abandoned my love for finance and business in favor of more intangible pursuits. It wasn’t until I acknowledged this imbalance that I was able to find a new sense of purpose.
Marrying the Intangible and Tangible
I realized that I didn’t have to choose between the intangible and tangible aspects of my business. Instead, I could combine them to create something truly unique. I began to study for my Series 6 investment and health & life insurance exams, honoring my desire to bring structure to dream making. This newfound knowledge has allowed me to merge my passion for finance with my passion for coaching.
A Message of Empowerment
My story is not unique, but it is a testament to the power of evolution and growth. As entrepreneurs, we must be willing to adapt and change, embracing new skills and perspectives while staying true to our core strengths. By doing so, we can create businesses that are authentic, sustainable, and impactful. The world needs our unique contributions, and it’s up to us to answer the call.
Staying Curious, Staying True
As I look to the future, I am reminded of the importance of staying curious and staying true to myself. The entrepreneurial journey is not a static one, and it requires a willingness to evolve and grow. By embracing this mindset, we can create businesses that are not only successful but also fulfilling and meaningful.
