Finding Freedom in Flexibility
As I sit in Des Moines, Iowa, surrounded by the simplicity and comfort of my little family, I’m reminded of the importance of finding a work-life balance that truly works for me. It may not be the most glamorous location, but for us, it’s perfect.
A Day of Bliss
Yesterday was one of those rare days where everything fell into place. I started my morning at a cozy coffee shop, mapping out plans for a thrilling announcement (more on that later!). The rest of the day was filled with quality family time, and once my daughter was tucked in, I jumped back into work mode. It was a day that I could only have dreamed of just a few years ago.
A Turning Point
I recall the difficult time when my aunt passed away, and I had to convince my boss to let me work remotely so I could attend her funeral in Minnesota. I was constantly glued to my email, worried that my boss would need me and fearful of being fired. That experience taught me the value of flexibility and control over my work.
Breaking Free from the Grind
After a particularly brutal phone meeting where my client belittled me in front of my family, I reached my breaking point. I realized that my job was dictating my life, forcing me to make sacrifices that I would later regret. From that day forward, I vowed to create a career that allowed me the freedom to live life on my own terms.
Taking Back Control
It’s easy to get caught up in the daily grind, letting work consume our lives. But I believe that we have the power to change that. By prioritizing our own needs and desires, we can break free from the cycle of mediocrity and create a life of purpose and fulfillment.
Empowering Women
I know that I’m not alone in this struggle. There are countless women who feel trapped in their jobs, sacrificing their well-being for the sake of their careers. But I want you to know that there’s a better way. You have the power to take control, to prioritize your own needs, and to create a life that truly reflects your values.
