“Remote in Paradise: My 3-Month Co-Working Adventure in Bali”

Working in Paradise: My Experience at a Co-working Space in Bali

Imagine starting your workday surrounded by lush jungle, with monkeys peeking in to say hello. Welcome to my life in Bali, where I’ve been working remotely from a co-working space for the past three months.

Finding the Perfect Space

I stumbled upon this co-working gem on a trip to Ubud last September and knew I had to come back. For a monthly fee, I get access to high-speed internet, quiet rooms, and reserved spaces for conference calls or recording podcasts. The space is open 24/7, with set hours for front desk staff and a raw foods café.

Learning and Growing

One of the highlights of my experience has been attending weekly skill share sessions led by member volunteers. I’ve picked up new knowledge on charisma, Google AdWords, and marketing essentials. Monday morning check-ins are also a great way to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and learn about their projects.

Community and Connection

I was blown away by the diversity of projects and entrepreneurs at the co-working space. From retail to coaching and tech freelancing, there’s no shortage of innovative ideas. The community is supportive and willing to share expertise – all you need to do is ask. I’ve even had help from a marketing genius from Dublin to improve my homepage.

Making Friends in Paradise

As an “empty-nester,” I was worried about feeling lonely in a new place. But the co-working space has been a great way to meet like-minded individuals from around the world. Introducing yourself to a few people is all it takes to start comparing notes and making friends over lunch at the raw foods café.

How You Can Work from Bali Too

If you’re interested in trying out the digital nomad lifestyle, I recommend finding an accountability-mate or looking into coaching programs offered by co-working spaces. The program here in Ubud is appealing, with a structured approach to keep your work moving forward and empower you to say no to distractions.

Balance and Gratitude

Working in Bali requires balance – it’s easy to get distracted by the beach or pool. But with a structured approach, you can stay focused and enjoy the beauty of the island on your days off. I feel grateful to be implementing my ideas and sharing my gifts with the world, surrounded by the sacred energy of Bali.

Next Stop: Colorado

As much as I love Bali, I’m excited to spend the summer in the mountains of Colorado. Who knows what new adventures and opportunities await? The freedom to work remotely has opened up a world of possibilities, and I’m grateful for the courage to take the leap.
