Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, allowing it to thicken. Let it cool before using.

Steak Prep 101

Place the flank steak in a large zippered plastic bag and pour half of the teriyaki sauce over it. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight, reserving the remaining sauce for later. Before grilling, remove the steak from the marinade and let it come to room temperature.
