Recharge and Refocus: The Power of Stepping Away
Sometimes, taking a break from the daily grind can be just what you need to reignite your passion and creativity. I recently had the opportunity to spend a day with two inspiring business coaches, and it was a powerful reminder of the importance of stepping away from the computer and connecting with like-minded individuals.
A Fresh Perspective
Since returning from this training event, I’ve been re-inspired to tackle my business goals with renewed energy and focus. Taking a step back from the day-to-day work allowed me to think strategically about where I want to take my business and identify new opportunities for growth.
The Value of a Training Plan
Last December, I created a training plan for myself and my business, outlining my goals and identifying the skills and knowledge I needed to acquire to achieve them. Now, several months into the year, I can see how this plan has helped me stay focused and make informed decisions about which training opportunities to pursue.
7 Questions to Guide Your Training Plan
When creating my training plan, I asked myself the following questions:
- Where do I want to be in a year’s time?
- What skills or knowledge gaps do I need to address to get there?
- Which books will support my growth and development?
- What events will help me achieve my goals?
- Who would I love to learn from or work with?
- Who do I want to meet?
- How will I take care of myself and prioritize self-care?
Empowering Your Team
I also recommend creating a training plan for your employees. By investing in their growth and development, you’re investing in the growth and success of your business. Encourage your team members to ask themselves the same questions and create a personalized training plan.
Using Technology to Streamline Training
To keep our training documents and videos organized, I use Trello.com. This platform allows me to create an operations manual and video training for each team member, making it easy for them to learn and cross-train on different tasks.
What’s Your Training Plan?
I’d love to hear from you – what does your training plan look like this year? How do you prioritize your own growth and development, and what strategies do you use to empower your team?
