Indulge in Rich Chocolate Treats Anytime
Are you a fan of decadent, smooth chocolate desserts like pots de crème or mousse? While they’re undeniably delicious, they can be a hassle to prepare and have a limited shelf life. That’s why we’ve created a game-changing recipe for frozen pudding pops that will satisfy your cravings at a moment’s notice.
Get Ready with the Right Equipment
Before you start, make sure you have freezer pop molds and an instant-read thermometer on hand. You can use any type of mold, but if yours don’t come with sticks, you can purchase wooden ones and insert them an hour into the freezing process.
A Deliciously Easy Recipe
This recipe yields about 10 (2-ounce) pops and takes only 30 minutes to prepare, plus 3 hours of freezing time. It’s incredibly easy to make and requires just 7 ingredients:
- 4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
- 1/8 teaspoon fine salt
- 2 cups cold half-and-half
- 2 teaspoons unflavored powdered gelatin
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Melt, Whisk, and Blend Your Way to Perfection
Combine the chocolate, sugar, butter, and salt in a medium saucepan over low heat, stirring often until the butter and chocolate have melted and the sugar has dissolved. Meanwhile, soften the gelatin in cold half-and-half and whisk it into the chocolate mixture until smooth. Heat the mixture, whisking frequently, until the gelatin dissolves and reaches a temperature of 170°F. Then, blend in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Freeze and Enjoy
Divide the mixture among your pop molds and freeze until set, about 3 hours. Alternatively, you can pour the mixture into ramekins and refrigerate until set, about 3 hours. To prevent a skin from forming on the pudding, cover each ramekin with plastic wrap, making sure it touches the surface.
Now, you can indulge in rich, creamy chocolate treats anytime, without the hassle of elaborate preparation or limited shelf life. Enjoy!
