Finding My Footing: A Journey of Self-Discovery
As I reflect on the past year, I’m reminded of a crucial lesson: staying true to oneself is essential in a world filled with distractions. I started a blog with a passion to share my thoughts and experiences, but soon found myself overwhelmed by the influx of guest posts, emails, and business opportunities. It was time to take a step back and reassess my priorities.
Rediscovering My Purpose
In the midst of chaos, I realized that I had lost sight of what mattered most – creating meaningful content that resonates with my audience. I spent more time editing and organizing guest posts than writing from the heart. It was time to reclaim my blog and focus on what truly matters.
A Year of Growth and Accomplishments
As I look back on the past year, I’m proud of the incredible journey I’ve been on. From being quoted in People Stylewatch magazine to publishing articles in Forbes, I’ve pushed beyond my comfort zone and achieved remarkable milestones. I’ve also completed 27 video interviews with successful women, spoken at various conferences, and transitioned to a part-time schedule to devote more time to my passions.
Lessons Learned
However, I’ve also learned that taking on too much can be detrimental to one’s well-being. I’ve come to realize that finding balance is crucial in maintaining productivity and creativity. As I enter a new year, I’m committed to simplifying my approach and focusing on what truly adds value to my life and the lives of others.
A New Chapter
In 2013, you can expect to see more of me on my blog, with fewer guest posts and more in-depth, meaningful content. I’ll be diving into new opportunities, including teaching at DeVry University and working on a book. My motto for the year is balance and simplicity, and I’m excited to embark on this new chapter.
My Focus for 2013
I’ve narrowed down my priorities to five key areas:
- Writing more blog articles that come from the heart
- Launching a community for like-minded individuals
- Continuing my weekly newsletter
- Publishing a book
- Teaching students at DeVry University
What’s Your Motto for 2013?
As we enter a new year, I encourage you to reflect on your own priorities and goals. What’s your motto for 2013? What changes will you make to simplify your life and focus on what truly matters?
