Gather Your Ingredients

To create this mouthwatering dish, you’ll need:

  • 1 package of soft tofu
  • A variety of colorful vegetables, including diced white onion, red and green peppers, baby corn, and green peas
  • 2 black mushrooms, soaked and diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • Fresh cilantro leaves and spring onions for garnish
  • Deep-fried garlic for added flavor (optional)
  • A blend of savory sauces, including oyster sauce, soy sauce or fish sauce, and Maggi seasoning sauce
  • Cane sugar, cornstarch, and vegetable stock to enhance the flavor and texture
  • Soy bean oil for frying and deep-frying
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Prepare the Tofu

Cut the soft tofu into thick pieces, about 1 inch long. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper, then coat with crispy flour. Fry until golden brown and place on a serving plate.

Stir-Fry the Vegetables

Heat soy bean oil in a wok or large frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped garlic, diced onion, red and green peppers, baby corn, mushrooms, and green peas. Stir-fry for about 20 seconds.

Add the Sauces and Seasonings

Next, add the soy sauce (or fish sauce), Maggi seasoning sauce, cane sugar, and ground black pepper. Stir briefly to combine. Then, add the cornstarch and spring onions, stirring briefly again.

Bring it All Together

Pour the vegetable mixture over the crispy tofu and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and deep-fried dried garlic (if using). Serve immediately and enjoy the harmonious balance of flavors and textures in this delicious Thai-inspired stir-fry!
