Fusion Feasting: A Twist on Traditional Ribs
As the summer drew to a close, I found myself with a surplus of pork ribs, just begging to be transformed into something new and exciting. With a passion for Indian and Thai cuisine, I set out to create a dish that would combine the best of both worlds.
The Perfect Blend of Flavors
My kitchen became a laboratory, as I gathered a medley of ingredients to create a truly unique flavor profile. The result was a harmonious blend of creamy peanut butter, aromatic curry powder, savory soy sauce, rich coconut milk, tangy ketchup, and a hint of orange juice.
Marinating Magic
To begin, I stirred together the peanut butter, curry powder, soy sauce, coconut milk, ketchup, and orange juice in a medium bowl until smooth. Next, I cut the pork ribs into manageable sections and placed them in a container with the marinade, allowing them to soak for at least 2 hours.
Oven-Roasted Perfection
With the ribs nicely marinated, I transferred them to a baking dish, reserving any excess sauce for later use. The ribs were then slow-cooked in a 325°F oven for 2 1/2 hours, covered for the first 2 hours, and periodically brushed with the reserved sauce.
A Delicious Departure from Tradition
The end result was a dish that was both familiar and exotic, with the tender pork ribs infused with the bold flavors of India and Thailand. This recipe is a testament to the magic that can happen when culinary traditions collide, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome.
