Say Goodbye to “I Don’t Know” Dinners: Easy Recipe Solution

The Ultimate “I Don’t Know” Supper Solution

Are you tired of hearing “I don’t know” when asking what’s for dinner? Look no further! This easy recipe is a game-changer, born out of the same frustration. By combining flavors that complement each other, I created a dish that’s sure to please even the pickiest eaters.

A Recipe Born from Frustration

The idea behind this recipe was to create something delicious using common ingredients. I started by thinking about what would taste good together, and the result is a satisfying meal that’s quick to prepare.

* Servings and Prep Time*

This recipe yields 2-4 servings and takes approximately 30-40 minutes to prepare, with 15-20 minutes of active cooking time.

* Ingredients*

  • 1 can chicken or beef broth
  • 1/5 cup butter (margarine works too)
  • 1 pint of Half and Half
  • Salt (natural sea salt recommended) to taste
  • Pepper (freshly ground black peppercorns preferred) to taste
  • Basil (optional) to taste
  • 1 cup of rice (mix of wild and white recommended)
  • 1/2 lb ground beef, ground sausage, or chicken (pre-slice chicken into 1″ x 1/2″ strips)
  • 2-4 cups shredded cheese (mix of mild cheddar and Monterey recommended)

Easy Steps to a Delicious Meal

Step 1: Prepare the Base
Combine broth, butter, and 1/4 pint of Half and Half in a medium pot. Season with salt, pepper, and basil, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and add rice. Cook for 18-20 minutes, ensuring not to cook out all the liquid.

Step 2: Cook the Protein
After 10 minutes of cooking the rice, start cooking the meat. Brown ground meat in a skillet, or sauté chicken in olive oil or portabella mushroom oil on medium-high heat. Season with salt, pepper, and basil.

Step 3: Combine and Blend
Add half of the cheese and another 1/4 pint of Half and Half to the meat mixture. Lower heat to simmer and mix until cheese is slightly melted. Combine this mixture with the cooked rice, stirring in the remaining cheese and Half and Half until evenly blended.

Scaling Up
To make a larger batch, simply double or triple the recipe. However, it’s not recommended to increase the recipe beyond triple, as it may affect the overall quality.

With this recipe, you’ll never hear “I don’t know” again when asking what’s for dinner!
