Protect Your Hands with the Right Gear

Before you begin your boxing fitness journey, it’s essential to invest in a good pair of hand wraps. These provide extra padding around your knuckles and support for your wrists, giving you the confidence to throw punches with precision and power. While most gyms and studios will provide gloves, hand wraps are usually not included, so it’s best to buy your own.

Learn the Proper Wrapping Technique

To ensure you get the most out of your hand wraps, it’s crucial to learn the proper wrapping technique. Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Spread your fingers wide apart.
  2. Place your thumb through the loop.
  3. Wrap the material over the top of your hand and around your wrist three times.
  4. Wrap your knuckles three times for added protection.
  5. Bring the wrap under your thumb and thread it between each finger.
  6. Wrap once around your wrist to secure the finger straps, then once around your thumb.
  7. Wrap your knuckles three more times, followed by another wrap around your wrist.
  8. Secure the wrap with velcro and you’re ready to go!
