Pinch grip strength involves gripping between the thumb and four fingers, while crush grip strength involves grasping between the digits and palm. Hold grip strength, on the other hand, involves hanging onto something for an extended period.
Exercises to Strengthen Your Grip
To improve your grip strength, try these exercises:
- Spring Training: Use a metal barbell clip to strengthen your crush grip.
- Pinch Plates: Grasp weight plates between your fingers and thumb to target your pinch grip strength.
- Farmers Carry: Hold a kettlebell or dumbbell in each hand and walk forward to engage your hold grip strength.
- Bar Hangs: Hold onto a pull-up bar to work your hold grip strength and aim to accumulate 30 to 60 seconds.
