Embracing the Lessons of 2020
As we step into the final stretch of the year, it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions. The pandemic has brought about unprecedented challenges, and it’s essential to acknowledge the impact it’s had on our mental health.
A Year of Reflection and Growth
December offers a unique opportunity to pause, reflect, and look back at the lessons we’ve learned. 2020 has been a year like no other, and it’s crucial to recognize the global trauma we’ve collectively experienced. While many of us have struggled with decreased mental well-being, others have discovered a sense of growth, expansion, and elevation.
The Power of Post-Traumatic Growth
Post-traumatic growth occurs when individuals face adversity head-on and build resilience in the face of trauma. This phenomenon is a testament to the human capacity for adaptation and transformation. As we navigate the uncertainties of life, it’s essential to remember that we have the power to shift and adapt when circumstances are beyond our control.
Honoring Your Humanity
It’s vital to recognize that everyone grows at their own pace. You don’t need to have experienced post-traumatic growth to be doing well. You’re human, with complex emotions, needs, and desires. The only reward for your progress is the peace you’ll find within.
Reflection and Intention
As we wrap up the year, I invite you to carve out sacred time for reflection. Ask yourself these three questions:
- What has 2020 taught you about your humanity?
- What has 2020 taught you about what it means to have joy?
- What has 2020 taught you about your ability to handle adversity?
Looking Ahead
Stay tuned for my final newsletter of the year, where we’ll explore setting intentions and honoring our growth. Remember, it’s not about external validation; it’s about finding peace within.
With love,
Minaa B.
