Fitness on a Budget: Sweat Without Breaking the Bank

Fitness on a Shoestring: Lessons Learned

Week in Review

I’m excited to share my experiences from working out on a budget over the past month. Here’s a recap of my week:

Slam Dunk Savings

I started the week with an intense workout playing basketball at a local sports center. This fun activity proved to be an incredible way to get exercise while having fun.

Gym Hopping on a Dime

On Tuesday, I took advantage of a free week-long trial at a local gym. This allowed me to try out their facilities and classes without committing to a membership. Remember, many gyms offer free trials, so be sure to check their website before signing up!

Yoga on a Shoestring

Wednesday found me back on the yoga mat at a donation-based yoga studio. For just a small donation, I was able to enjoy a great class and continue to improve my practice. Throughout the month, I’ve seen significant improvement, and I’m hooked on yoga!

Finding My Flow

I returned to the yoga studio on Thursday for another 70 minutes of vinyasa flow. This style of yoga gets my heart rate up and allows me to stretch out while working out. Plus, who can resist a good meditation session?

Sweating at Home

For my final day of Fitness on a Budget, I treated myself to a yoga session at home – no teacher, podcast, or online video needed. By using what I learned from this month’s classes, I can now practice yoga for free!

The Bottom Line

This week’s total? A mere $10! Through this challenge, I’ve realized that the real problem isn’t the cost of working out, but rather the excuses we make. By finding what activities are worth our hard-earned cash, we can make fitness affordable.
