Celebrating a Year of Financial Freedom: Milestones, Memories, and Momentum

A Year of Financial Freedom

From Humble Beginnings

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I started a small Tumblr to track my spending and finally take control of my finances. What began as a personal experiment has grown into a full-fledged business, with three people working on it full-time and a fourth contributing their passion and expertise. We’ve published hundreds of articles, received thousands of comments, and now average over 500,000 pageviews a month.

A New Chapter

As we celebrate this milestone, we’re excited to announce the launch of our new video channel, in partnership with the Vlogbrothers. This new medium will allow us to share money strategies, embarrassing stories, and interviews with women who are making a difference. We’ll be learning alongside our audience and tackling topics that were previously taboo.

A Community of Support

The community we’ve built is truly remarkable. Our readers encourage and support each other, sharing their own stories and mistakes. It’s a privilege to be part of this web of kindness and growth. Even when we make mistakes, our community is there to offer constructive feedback and help us improve.

A Special Thank You

I want to express my gratitude to my boyfriend, Marc, who has been instrumental in taking our site from a small Tumblr to a thriving business. His technical expertise and business acumen have been invaluable, and his passion for our project is inspiring. He’s a true partner in every sense of the word.

Reflecting on the Journey

Looking back on the past year, I’m struck by how far we’ve come. From quitting jobs to taking risks, it’s been a journey of growth and discovery. And yet, it feels like just yesterday we were sitting around a dining table, fueled by iced coffee and big dreams.

The Future Ahead

As we embark on year two, I’m excited to see what the future holds. With our new video channel, upcoming projects, and continued support from our community, I know we’ll achieve great things. We’re no longer afraid to talk about money, and that freedom has opened up a world of possibilities.

A Web of Sisterhood

Lauren, Maya, and our incredible community of readers and writers have become a source of inspiration and strength. We’re making each other stronger, braver, and more independent with every honest conversation. I’m grateful to be part of this journey, and I know that together, we can achieve anything.
