A Dream Takes Shape: My Journey to Becoming an Author
As an avid reader, I’ve always harbored a secret ambition: to write a book of my own. After years of nurturing this dream, I’m thrilled to announce that it’s finally becoming a reality. In 2013, I’ll be publishing my debut book, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this journey with you.
The Spark That Ignited
Two remarkable women played a significant role in propelling me towards this goal. Jessica Miller, co-author of “A Woman’s Guide To Successful Negotiations,” and Jennifer Crittendon, author of “The Discreet Guide For Executive Women,” shared their valuable insights and experiences with me during our networking challenge interviews. Their encouragement and guidance helped me realize that I already had a wealth of material within my blog, waiting to be transformed into a book.
Why Traditional Publishing?
You might wonder why I chose to go with a publisher instead of self-publishing. While having control over the process and potentially higher earnings are tempting, I knew I needed the structure and accountability that a publisher provides. Without a deadline, I risked procrastination, and my book would never see the light of day. Now, I have a partner who’s invested in my success, offering feedback and guidance to help me craft a high-quality manuscript.
What’s the Book About?
The moment you’ve all been waiting for! My book will be a comprehensive guide for professional women, focusing on effective strategies for managing men in the workplace. Drawing from my seven years of experience as a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, I’ll share valuable lessons learned from working with and managing men in various settings. This book aims to empower women to confidently navigate their roles, breaking free from stereotypes and double standards that often hold them back.
Stay Tuned for Updates!
Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing more about my writing journey and the progress of my book. Your support and encouragement mean the world to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share this experience with you. Thank you for being part of my community!
