From Reader to Author: Turning Dreams into Reality

Dreams Do Come True: My Journey to Becoming an Author

As an avid reader, I’ve always fantasized about writing a book. And now, I’m thrilled to announce that my dream is finally becoming a reality! After months of hard work and dedication, I’ve signed a contract with a publisher, and my book is set to hit the shelves in 2013.

The Inspiration Behind My Book

Two remarkable women played a significant role in inspiring me to take the leap and start writing. Jessica Miller, co-author of “A Woman’s Guide To Successful Negotiations,” encouraged me to tap into my existing blog content to create a book. Her words of wisdom sparked a light bulb moment, and I realized that I already had a wealth of material to draw from.

Another influential figure was Jennifer Crittendon, author of “The Discreet Guide For Executive Women: How To Work Well With Men.” During our meeting, she shared her publishing experiences and offered valuable advice on whether to self-publish or work with a traditional publisher. Her confidence in my abilities gave me the courage to pursue my dream.

Why I Chose to Work with a Publisher

Many of you might wonder why I opted for a publisher instead of self-publishing. While I understand the benefits of having complete control over the process, I knew I needed a deadline to stay motivated. With a publisher, I have a team behind me, providing guidance and feedback to ensure my book meets its full potential.

What’s My Book About?

The moment of truth has finally arrived! My book will serve as a comprehensive guide for professional women, focusing on how to effectively manage men in the workplace. Drawing from my 7-year experience as a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, I’ve developed a unique understanding of the challenges women face when working with men. My goal is to empower women to become confident leaders, unafraid to showcase their strengths and individuality.

The Journey Ahead

Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing updates on my writing progress. I’m excited to embark on this journey and grateful for the overwhelming support I’ve received so far. Your encouragement means the world to me, and I’m looking forward to sharing my book with you soon!
