Discover the Secret to Cooking Delicious Meals at Home
As a food enthusiast, I’ve always been on the lookout for ways to cook high-quality meals without the hassle of meal planning and grocery shopping. That’s why I’m excited to share my experience with Blue Apron, a meal kit delivery service that has revolutionized the way I cook.
How It Works
Blue Apron is simple and straightforward. You log into your account, view your upcoming meals, and change your meals if you want something different. My husband and I opt for the “Signature for 2” meal plan, which gives us 3 meals (6 total servings) each week to choose from 11 meal options. They also offer a meal plan for 4 people and a meal prep plan with 2 different meal prep packages.
What’s in the Box?
Every Blue Apron box comes with all the ingredients you need for each meal, in exact increments. This means no food waste and no leftover ingredients. The only exception is garlic – you’ll never run out! The ingredients are super high-quality, especially the meats. The box also includes detailed cooking instructions that don’t require any fancy equipment.
Is It Healthy?
I don’t follow a specific diet, but I find that Blue Apron’s meals are well-balanced and satisfying. They offer tons of options that are carb-conscious, Weight Watchers-approved, and even wellness meals designed with nutritionists. One of my favorite recipes is the Maple-Mustard Pork Roast, which is packed with veggies and protein.
The Cost
Our base rate is less than $60 a week for 3 meals of 2 servings, which works out to less than $10 per serving. We sometimes upgrade to premium options, which can add $5-10 per serving. While it may seem pricey, I think it’s worth it for the quality of ingredients and variety of meals. Plus, it’s helped us cut back on food waste, which saves us money in the long run.
Who Is It For?
If you enjoy cooking, trying new foods, and having health-conscious meals without the hassle of meal planning, Blue Apron is a great option. It’s also perfect for those who want to introduce themselves to cooking or need a convenient solution for busy weeks. With easy-to-follow recipe instructions, it’s an awesome introduction to cooking for anyone who’s not super confident in the kitchen.
Who Isn’t It For?
While Blue Apron offers vegetarian options, it’s not suitable for vegans. If you have severe food allergies or sensitivities, it may not be the best choice for you. However, each meal lists every ingredient on the Blue Apron website, so you can make an informed decision before committing.
