Lululemon Revolutionizes Running: Introducing Blissfeel Shoes for Women

Get Ready to Lace Up: Lululemon’s Game-Changing Running Shoes for Women

Lululemon fans, rejoice! The beloved Canadian brand is taking its signature comfort and style to the next level with the launch of its first-ever running shoes designed specifically for women. Say hello to the Blissfeel, a shoe that promises to feel like a supported extension of your foot.

The Comfort Revolution

Lululemon’s focus on comfort is no secret, and the Blissfeel is no exception. With its cushioned design and extra bounce, this shoe is designed to propel you forward with every step. Available in U.S. sizes 5 to 11 (including half sizes), the Blissfeel will set you back $148 USD ($198 CAD). But with 10 colorful and classic designs to choose from, you’ll want to snag a pair (or two, or three…) to match your favorite running shorts or tights.

The Science Behind the Shoe

So, how did Lululemon create a shoe that’s specifically tailored to the female foot and gait? By scanning over 1 million women’s feet, of course! This extensive research was followed up with wear testing done by female runners, ensuring that the Blissfeel is truly designed with women in mind.

Innovating for Women

“We saw an opportunity to solve for the fact that, more often than not, performance shoes are designed for men and then adapted for women,” says Sun Choe, Lululemon’s chief product officer. “Innovating for women is in Lululemon’s DNA — now we’re bringing that same expertise to footwear, and women were part of this journey every step of the way.”

The Female Foot: A Unique Challenge

It’s no secret that men’s and women’s feet are different. Women typically have differently shaped feet, and their running form is affected by their physiology, including their larger hips. This means that women’s feet strike the pavement differently, requiring a shoe that’s tailored to their specific needs.

A Sneak Peek at What’s to Come

The Blissfeel is just the beginning. Lululemon is launching an entire female-centric shoe lineup, including:

  • Chargefeel: A cross-training shoe for the gym and short runs, available in low and mid-top styles. Launching in summer 2022.
  • Restfeel: A slide for all your post-workout and athleisure needs. Launching in summer 2022.
  • Strongfeel: A training shoe designed for dynamic movements that require an anchored feel. Launching in fall 2022.

And don’t worry, guys – Lululemon hasn’t forgotten about you. A men’s footwear collection is set to launch in 2023.
