Storylines, a luxury cruise line, is building a “luxury residential community at sea” – a concept that allows individuals to purchase a home on a ship and transform their entire life into a cruise. The company’s MV Narrative ship offers residences ranging from $297,000 for a 237 square foot studio to nearly $8 million for a 1,948 square foot two-story penthouse. Buyers can choose to purchase their home outright or sign a 12- or 24-year lease.

Amenities Galore

The MV Narrative will feature an array of luxurious amenities, including a movie theater, 20 restaurants and bars, a 5,400 square foot garden, a microbrewery, three pools, a 10,000-book library, and a spa and wellness center. Once on board, residents will enjoy an all-inclusive lifestyle, with most meals, beverages, activities, and events covered for a daily fee starting at $70.

Sustainable Living

Storylines has addressed some sustainability concerns by implementing eco-friendly practices, such as a zero-waste farmer’s market, waste-to-energy technology, and a commitment to donate 1% of profits to ocean conservancy. The ship will also be free of single-use plastics.

Itinerary and COVID Concerns

While the ship’s full itinerary won’t be announced until 2023, residents can expect to travel to six continents, staying at each port for 1 to 5 days. Although COVID-19 remains a concern, Storylines is confident that the virus will no longer be an issue by the time residents embark on their journey. Until then, it’s exciting to imagine living a digital nomad lifestyle, working from a yacht, and exploring the world.
