Summer’s Sweet Surprise: A Refreshing Apple Ginger Fizz
Inspiration Strikes
My 13-year-old son’s passion for blending knows no bounds! When he stumbled upon a recipe in his trusty blender cookbook, he just had to give it a try. With a few tweaks and substitutions, he whipped up a dessert drink that exceeded all expectations.
A Delicious Detour
Without all the necessary ingredients on hand, my son improvised like a pro, substituting and adjusting to create something truly unique. The result was a refreshingly tart drink that tasted amazing after dinner. In fact, it was so good that I think his version might even surpass the original recipe!
A Perfect Summer Sipper
This apple ginger fizz makes an ideal summer beverage, perfect for hot days and warm evenings. But don’t be surprised if you find yourself craving it at any time of day – it’s that good! The only thing holding it back from being a breakfast drink is the addition of soda.
Get Blending!
With a yield of 3 large glasses and a total prep time of just 15 minutes, this easy recipe is a must-try. Here’s what you’ll need:
Ingredients
- 2 cups lightly or unsweetened apple sauce
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 liter bottle of Ginger Ale
Blending Magic
Mix everything except the ginger ale in your blender on the lowest setting for about 45 seconds. You’ll notice it froth up slightly. Then, chill the mixture in the fridge for an hour or two. When it’s time to serve, fill a glass halfway with the apple mix and top it off with ginger ale. Serve with a straw and enjoy!
