Sweet Treats for the Holidays
A Family Recipe with a Twist
When it comes to holiday treats, I like to keep things healthy, but every now and then, I indulge in a sweet delight. This year, I’m excited to share my grandmother’s traditional dough recipe with a modern twist – Nutella!
Easy as Can Be
With only 7 ingredients, this recipe is a breeze to make. You’ll need:
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/2 cup Nutella
Getting Started
Begin by mixing the margarine, sugar, and vanilla in a food processor until smooth. Add the eggs and process until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
Shaping the Treats
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Use a small cup to cut out circles, and place 1/2 teaspoon of Nutella in the center of each circle. Fold the dough up around the filling, pressing the three ends together to form a triangle.
Baking to Perfection
Place the triangles on a well-greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes. For an extra golden touch, brush the tops with an egg wash before baking.
The Result?
Crispy, flaky pastry filled with rich, chocolatey Nutella. These treats are sure to be a hit at any holiday gathering!
