My Secret to Working Only 15 Hours a Week as a Career Coach

As a career coach, I’ve spent the past 10 years building my business and learning how to balance my work and personal life. After having three kids, I realized I needed to make some changes to my schedule to avoid burnout. In this article, I’ll share my weekly calendar and the strategies I use to work only 15 hours a week while still delivering high-quality results for my clients.

The Problem: Burnout and Long Hours

Last year, I was working over 45 hours a week, including nights and weekends. I was feeling stressed, burnt out, and overwhelmed. I knew I needed to make a change, but I wasn’t sure where to start.

The Solution: A New Schedule

I started by tracking my time using Toggl, a time-tracking tool. I realized that I was spending too much time on non-essential tasks and not enough time on high-leverage activities. I decided to create a new schedule that would allow me to focus on the most important tasks and reduce my work hours.

My Weekly Calendar

Here’s an overview of my weekly calendar:

  • Monday: Marketing and content creation (2 hours)
  • Monday afternoon: Admin tasks and team meeting (1 hour)
  • Tuesday: Coaching day (3-4 hours)
  • Wednesday: Off
  • Thursday: Launch preparation and sales (3-4 hours)
  • Friday: Off
